Working with woven and collaged photographs captured whilst cold water swimming, I invite the viewer to reflect on different experiences of being in the water, from the psychological and physiological effects to the sense of connection to people, place and the environment.

The work depicts images of landscape and nature through the seasons. Paintings are constructed as long views or more close up observations, expressing ideas sometimes from imagination and memory and the experience of being within the landscape. Several media are used: cold wax, acrylic, watercolour and inks.
Jan Fisher studied Fine Art (painting) at Coventry College of Art and did a post graduate in Art Education in Newcastle.

In 1974 Ben and Judy came to live and work on a farm on the Isle of Mull. Their time here, and the colours and magic of the island, have inspired and shaped their art ever since.
